So you're keen but not entirely sure where to start?  That's okay, we have ranked our hikes against each other so you can challenge yourself incrementally and build up your skills, experience and confidence.  Please check out our hike ranks below;

Easiest

Ranked 1 - Bymien to Freshwater (Rainbow Beach)

  • Short hike
  • Relatively flat and sheltered
  • Good for new and inexperienced hikers.
  • You should be able to walk 10km in 4 hours while carrying 12 to 15 kilograms on your back to complete this hike with comfort

Ranked 2 - Gheerulla Loop

  • Short hike
  • Big hills
  • Good for new and inexperienced hikers with a fair level of fitness.
  • You should be able to walk 10km in 4 hours while carrying 12 to 15 kilograms on your back over undulating and steep terrain to complete this hike with comfort

Ranked 3 - Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great! Walk

  • Mid sized hike
  • Many big hills and undulations
  • Gets hot
  • 16km in 5 hours while carrying 12 to 15 kilograms on your back

Ranked 4 - Gold Coast Hinterland Great! Walk 

  • Mid sized hike
  • Some big hills and undulations
  • Gets hot
  • 15km in 5 hours while carrying 12 to 15 kilograms on your back

Ranked 5 - Conondale Range Great! Walk

  • Mid sized hike
  • Large hills with the last day a bit of a grind
  • 15km in 5 hours while carrying 12 to 15 kilograms on your back

Ranked 6 - Cooloola Great! Walk

  • Long hike
  • Some exposed areas
  • Predominantly flat or smaller hills
  • Very remote
  • 20km in 7 hours while carrying 14 to 18 kilograms on your back

Ranked 7 - Carnarvon Gorge Great! Walk

  • Long hike
  • Significant hills
  • Very hot and very cold
  • Extremely remote
  • 20km in 7 hours while carrying 14 to 18 kilograms on your back

Ranked 8 - Coming Soon! - Massive hike, some exposed areas, some long days, very remote.  Experienced and highly capable hikers only.
